FORT BRAGG
Hawthorne began the Fort Bragg COCO (contractor owned, contractor operated) project in 2003. The first step was to construct two fuel storage and issue facilities at the two Fort Bragg airports: Simmons Army Airfield and Camp MacKall Airfield. The facilities each include storage and hydrant systems for rapid refueling Army aircraft as well as rail and truck bulk loading/unloading sites. Hawthorne employees provide cold refueling utilizing Hawthorne tanker trucks and rapid refueling at the hydrants during hours consistent with Army requirements. Hawthorne employees at Fort Bragg are proud to be able to provide support to Army Aviation.
